How much time it takes to get into Google Top 10?

The answer is not straight forward and it would be impossible to predict an exact time frame. The time taken to reach into Google top depends on some of the following factors
- Keyword
- Competition
- Your web site’s current ranking
- Localization
Keyword
Keyword is the most important factor in determining how much it is going to take to reach into Google Top 10 ranking.
The most competative keywords are harder to predict but less competative keywords can be predicted within a certain margin.
E.g.
Laptop keyword is one of the most competative keyword and it would be hard to predict how much time it will take to achieve Google top 10 Ranking for it. However less competative keywords such as Desktop PC might be predicted to achieve Google top 10 ranking within a given time frame.
2) Competition
Another important factor is competition. There are certain keywords for which you will fond tough competition. For such keywords prediction would become almost impossible. However if competition is not too tough then it would be easy to predict how much time it will take to get into Google top 10.
3) Current Ranking of website
If you already ranked higher in Google search result ranking then it might take less time to get into top 10 ranking for less competative keywords. Again for highly competative keywords it would be hard to predict.
4) Localization
If you want to promote your website to a specific country rather than globally than it takes less time to get into top 10 for that country.
Above are just some of few factors in determining the time frame you need to get into top 10.
With my experience all I can say is that it takes anywhere from 2 months (less competative keywords (E.g. SEO Report) to 8 months (For highly competative keywords such as Laptop) of time to get into Google Top 10.
